Two years after the release of their second album, "Bareback" (Svart Records, 2018), Throat close the cycle on the album with a double remix version. Presumably a first within the noise rock scene, Throat invited artists from the international noise/industrial scene to select a song off "Bareback" and deconstruct/destroy/rearrange the raw studio tracks provided to them.
As a result, "Bareback (Stripped & Remasked)" contains a remixed version of the original album - not just once, but twice! The result is a wild ride of sonic madness ranging from brutal harsh noise to more experimental industrial sounds and everything in between. Simultaneously presenting completely new material from the artists involved and Throat paying homage to influential genres of sound not necessarily so obvious in their usual material.
The artists/groups participating on "Bareback (Stripped & Remasked)" include Government Alpha, Himukalt, Deison, Black Leather Jesus, Sshe Retina Stimulants, Vanhala, Heat Signature, Like Weeds, Linekraft, Lasse Marhaug, Concrete Mascara, Erratix, Niku Daruma, Kazuma Kubota, Jarl and Keränen.
Final word of warning: if you are looking for straight-up noise rock or new Throat material and can't stand to have your head pierced by harsh noise power tools, this release may not be for you.

Avoimin mielin."

"A proper release with beautiful design, I strongly suggest you check this album out, even if you’re completely unfamiliar with Throat; their decision to collaborate with the world of noise & industrial was a good move, not only putting some artists they enjoy in the spotlight, but also by introducing themselves to a lot of people who are already into the abrasive music they borrow certain tendencies from in their own song writing. Strongly recommend you grab a copy of this."

I cannot praise this album enough. This album is absolutely terrifying! The many starts and stops creates this very h settling tension. Each start expands on the stopper idea previously. It’s like the music equivalent of walking through thick fog while passing out multiple times throughout trying to find a place to orientate yourself. There may or may not be something sinister in that fog, but you don’t want to stick around to find out. Bought the vinyl so I summon the fog demons through spe showhornwithteeth
